Haitham Shammaa
Global South Learning Strategist, Grantmaking Learning and Evaluation, Wikimedia Foundation
I am quite confident that there are at least 1 million people around the globe who have enough time to make at least one edit to Wikipedia everyday.
About me
I joined WMF in 2012 after completing my Ph.D. in precision engineering and briefly working as a researcher in geometric modeling. I speak English, Arabic and Japanese (and a few others at a basic level), love reading, traveling, reading while traveling, and sports (archery, cycling and martial arts).
My work
The Global South Learning Strategist is an integral member of the Grantmaking Learning & Evaluation team, supporting it in the ability to make data driven grantmaking decisions. This position supports the evaluation needs of the grantmaking team, with a particular focus on the developing strategy of work in emerging communities in the Global South.
